Glimpses of Fall ...

I love this time of year everywhere I look there are so many inspiring colors.

Life is a little busy, there are Halloween costumes to create, spooky treats to bake, and a very special custom painting I am finishing up for one of my fabulous customers.

I hope to finish creating Abbeys costume tomorrow and my customer's fun family painting.

Wednesday is a Halloween parade and then I have to start making Noah's scary costume.

I think sleep might be optional towards the end of the week.

Next week is going to be all about creating new art, I can't wait!

An Owl, a Family, and a Pumpkin (with an owl) !!!

A Barn Owl, a Pumpkin, and a Blue Crescent Moon ...

Here is my latest Halloween Card. The original art was created on a vintage book page. I first stained the paper with watered down orange acrylic paint. Once it was dry I drew the fun Halloween scene with colored pencil, pastel, and ink.

MMM ...Monday, Halloween Treats ...

I love Halloween, it’s my favorite holiday. Every year I try to make it special for the kiddies. Here are some of my favorite things from this Halloween!!!

My blue wig!!! I wore it all weekend. I wish I had blue hair!

Noah’s first scary costume!!! He has wanted to be something scary for the last couple of years and this year I finally gave in. I bought his mask at Wal-Mart, stained it brown, and attached moss and a spider to it. His flashy clothes were bought at the Salvation Army. I tore the pants jacket and tie, stained everything with brown paint, glued leaves, moss, spider webs and spiders all over his clothes. I think he looked awesome.

Abbey’s pretty purple butterfly costume!!! She looked so cute with her sparkly cheeks.

My first attempt at purple cat pancakes!!! They were yummy.

Noah carved his first pumpkin!!! He did a great job.

Michael and Noah’s spooky jack-o-lanterns!!!

My jack-o-lantern!!!

My favorite Halloween decoration from my childhood!!!

Our Halloween cat Scream!!! He just celebrated his 9th birthday; he was born just before Halloween.

Our favorite Halloween book!!! Denys Cazet is one of our favorite authors.

Lots of yummy candy!!!

Five Little Pumpkins …

Today I shipped out my “Five Little Pumpkins” painting. I have to confess I am a little sad to see it go. It was a lot of fun to create. The painting was based on the children’s poem, Five Little Pumpkins.

When I was in kindergarten I heard the poem and so did Noah. I love the poem, it’s adorable, fun, and it puts a smile on my face.

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate;

The first one said, “Oh my it’s getting late.”

The second on said, “ There are witches in the air.”

The third one said, “ But I don’t care”.

The fourth one said, “ Let’s run and run”.

The fifth one said, “ I’m ready for some fun.”

“Wooooo” went the wind, and out went the lights, and the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
