Pretty Daylily ...

The two biggest inspirations for my art are vintage décor and nature especially flowers. I am my happiest with paint and dirt on my hands. For one of my latest pieces nature and vintage décor intertwined to create a simply beautiful piece of art. I found this ornate little frame at an antique market along with the vintage drawer pull. The daylily was inspired by some of my own daylilies that grow in my yard. The painting was done on a piece of mdf that I layered with cardstock and acrylic paint. I love how the technique gave the painting a textured and antique feel. The piece is simply pretty.
