I wanted to share a few pictures of my newest watercolor collage. This piece of art features three little birds, vintage cookbook pages, vintage thread, watercolors, acrylic paint, sequins, and an 11” by 5 ½” piece mdf.

An Amazing Cause ...
In the beginning of February I had the privilege of being approached by Brooke Desserich, author and founder of The Cure Starts Now Foundation to donate a piece of art to their gala and silent auction in March.
I was flattered. This year the event has a jungle theme, so I decided to create a piece of art that would fit in with the event. I knew I wanted to paint birds, of course but I was uncertain what kind.
I decided to paint two Sun Conure Parrots, they are colorful, happy, cheerful birds and I thought they would be perfect for the event.

Sunlight ... Please!

I feel like I have been trapped in the house for the last month. If it hasn’t been the beautiful weather keeping the kids home from school it’s been the flu. They were even sweet enough to share the flu with me last week. It was horrible; I wish I could get my energy back. Doing the smallest chore makes me want to crawl into bed and take a nap. Between the next looming winter storm and being exhausted I’m starting to get a little grouchy, ok very grouchy.
This is a sunny, warm, happy, piece of art I created this past week. Think Sunlight!

A Rooster, an Owl, and a little Love ...

Here is a little peek at some colored pencil and pastel drawings I have created. I will be incorporating them in a couple of upcoming projects.
A colorful Rooster.

A blue Owl.
Have a fabulous Wednesday!
