I wanted to share my newest painting, a fun commission piece I created for one of my fabulous customers.
Here are a few pictures of my latest Rooster painting. This vibrant rooster was painted on a vintage tabletop. Before I started to paint I sanded the tabletop and painted the top white. I then painted the tabletop a bright orange and then a vibrant teal. I mixed and used every color paint I have to create this vibrant bird. The fun rooster is standing on a hill of white daisies with a touch of gold glitter paint.
My favorite part of the painting is the sky. I love how the orange sneaks through the teal. This pretty bird should be in my Etsy shop by the end of the day!

It was a very busy week. Here are a few pictures of my creations from this past week.
Mr. Rooster and Ms. Chicken gaze longingly into each other’s eyes. They don’t notice the rising sun or the fading stars above them. They don’t smell the vibrant flowers that surround them or the whimsical hearts floating above them. All they see is each other.
Cheery, colorful, bright, vibrant, and glittery are a few adjectives Noah came up with to describe my latest creation. My newest piece of art is made up of recycled and vintage materials. The frame and sequences I purchased at a flea market, one of the books I used was purchased at the Salvation Army, the other was a book our local library was giving away, and the thread was part of a purchase from a vintage shop on Etsy.
Before I started creating the art piece I dyed some of the book pages. I mixed a little acrylic paint with water and hung the wet sheets from the laundry line to dry. After the pages were dry I sewed together the light teal sky and drew the fabulous flowers with a black marker.
The cheery rooster was created with vintage book pages, recycled card stock, pastels, colored pencil, and pen.
All the different parts of the collage have been sewed with vintage thread and glittery sequence.
